I know, I know....

So here's how everything is going here. I was way sick for the last week and got nothing done. Nothing. I hate that. So now I'm trying to catch up. I'm inking pages of Bullet time and Mushroom murders. Mushroom murders #4 is almost done. I did take a couple of hours out to learn to make rifftrax DVD's. Both because I wanted them and the programs used will give me more video editing flexibility....I think. I now have everything I need to do video reviews. I bought the paint fro the desk last night. Now I have to repair the desk, as it was second hand (OK I picked it up next to a dumpster, are you happy?) and build the set. I have assembled the studio lights. That's where everything stands. Now back to work to get a little bit more done before gaming tonight.

Bwa hahahahhahha

My grinchy video plans are much closer to becoming reality. I just bought a copy of Bandicam, which is a pretty neat program. I got all the supplies I needed for my set, except for the paint. (I need to paint the chest of drawers I'll be using as a desk) I ordered the video editing software from amazon saving almost 50 bucks over our local Best Buy (between that and the service I have gotten there over the last 2 years it's no wonder they are dying, but that's a rant for another time). Finally I got 2 1000 watt work lights with tripod stands, and a Sony camcorder. Thank you tax refund. Now to start setting it up and figure out what to do first.

Another unfunny update

Yeah I know, I'm disappointed in myself too. Things have been ...we'll say challenging at casa del Jaconey. Sure that's a nice way to put that between work and the personal events of the last month I'm in a constant state of exhaustion. But not sleep deprived enough to have hallucinations because I just can't win. Anyhoo, as far making videos goes I got my taxes into my CPA. This is related, trust me. And they were done and sent on time and I'll be getting a refund which will cover the remaining cost of the things I need to get started like the camera, software, and lighting equipment . So I'm pretty well thrilled with that. As far as reviews go I'm not yet sure what to do first, but my son, whom we'll call Bconey wants me to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked with him. So I don't think I'll ultimately be at a loss for options. I'm almost done inking Mushroom Murders issue 4, but I'm just crawling on Bullet Time issue 4. Now I'm gonna go to bed for an unbelievably short amount of time before work.

Just an unfunny update

Just a quick note on my progress. I finished inking page 16 of issue 4 of Mushroom Murders. Have almost finished page 7 of Bullet Time issue 4. I opened a twitter account @jaconey1, I hope I put that right. As for doing video reviews which I still plan to do ASAP, Things are tight money wise at the moment so that's moving slowly, but I continue to work on my set, and I got a tripod. Still need 3 pieces of video software, a decent camera, and lighting. But I will get there. Sorry that this post wasn't at all funny. PS238

First off this is not a rant, or a proper review. This post is just gushing praise. I have several of the trade collections of the comic PS238 by Aaron Williams, but there were a handful of issues I missed and I haven't gotten in collections yet. I just finished catching up on a bunch of them as they are uploaded as a webcomic on Aaron Williams site. I can not stress enough how good this comic is. It is all ages appropriate, but has humor and concepts that appeal to adult readers. It is a superhero spoof that transcends the category of parody in every way. As if that wasn't enough there are tons of references and easter eggs for nerds of almost every variety. This comic rocks and if you aren't reading it you should be. I give it 2 stars up and 5 thumbs. Yes you read that right, deal with it. How nick or cartoon network have not made this into one of the most kick-ass shows ever is beyond me. So that is that. As of this writing the first 38 issues are available to read free on Aaron Williams site at http://www.nodwick.com/. Go forth and enjoy.

Rantless

I planned to put up a humorous rant today. Really I did. But everything currently irritating me has just been little crap not worthy of my righteous rage. Also I still haven't gotten the camera, and really my rants are much better in person cause then I can make funny faces, but that is neither here nor there. Today I have a Thursday "day job" that has me drive all over for about five hours. Normally this would provide me with ample ranting fodder because let's face it, people are annoying, all of them, everywhere, without exception, except of course for you dear reader. But today went well, bizarrely well in fact. There was no "A-ha I can spaz out about that" moment. If fact it went so well it makes me worry. So here we are, a rantless rant. So in closing yes I'm gonna go get a lottery ticket. Haw can I not, it's up to half a b-b-b-billion. End of rant....less. 

Teenage (?) Ninja Turtles

It's more or less tomorrow so I am going to rant now. Now this is my first rant and it's going to be short as it's just a text entry. 

I would rather have this been a video rant but I'm not quite ready for that yet.  I saw on yahoo news that Michael Bay is going to do a reboot of the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I was going to link to the story, but now It's been replaced with a story about Michael Bay telling the fans they need to chill. Hmmmm ignoring the fans of the franchise, well since I can't link to the original story I'll just impart these word to Bay http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=fLrpBLDWyCI&feature=fvwp.   

Any who the big problem with Michael bays Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is that they aren't going to be mutants are rather aliens.  What the hell, I mean seriously, how do you take out something so fundamental to the characters?
It's in their freaking name. Now ever since the star wars prequels came out people have used the phrase "they raped my childhood" a lot.  Do to it's overuse I hesitate to say that Bay is going to rape my childhood with this God awful change however I will say he has acquired a van and candy.

Now the transformer movies weren’t anything to write home about, but they at least transformed thus staying true to the title. 
Maybe Bay would like to get his hands on some other franchises like star wars, now on a boat. Or Batman, now a vampire, wait DC comics already did that. Oh I know. Jaws, now takes place just outside phoenix Arizona.  Either way the whole idea is just idiotic. Don't get me wrong, I grew up with the turtles, I know it's a silly premise but For God's sake have some respect for your source material.  To wrap up, Mr. Bay I'll simply pass on the wisdom of George Takei, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_QDGdbg-QQ. Stuff, Stuff and more Stuff

So here we are 20 days later. I'm still working on inking Issues 4 of both Mushroom Murders, and Bullet Time. Got the preview copies of Mushroom Murders issue 1 in the mail and they look great for the most part. I had a couple of nitpics with the printing, but overall quite satisfying. I have been prepping my taxes to go to the accountant so that's a barrel of fun. I have been also considering doing some new Toyin' around strips for http://www.hedgehoggames.com/ since I haven't done any strips for the site in forever. Finally I did a couple of xtranormal youtube videos many months ago. It was fun but not as much as I had hoped so I'm looking to get a handycam and make some proper videos at some point in the not too distant future. That is the state of things here. I have a rant brewing, but with no camera it will be a text rant. I'll get on that tomorrow. For now all I'll say is Michael Bay........TMNT.......WHY??????????

Welcome to Hedgehog Studios! I'm your host Jaconey. I’m not yet entirely sure what various brands of insanity I plan to post here.
